Would you ever consIder moving up Norf?
Have been seriously thinking about this lately after spending some time in North Yorkshire last year and really liking it, could see myself seeing my days out in a nice cottage on the Dales or somewhere similar, nice walks, pub lunches etc. You get so much more for your money property wise up there, it seems more traditional (old England ish) and nice pubs, countryside etc.

Downsides - People speak funny, although that said I encountered plenty of Southern accents up there, you are no longer on your own manor, no underground transport, away from family (although this could be a positive in some cases no doubt) no West Ham, not near to London, etc.

Of course, for some, they can't shift due to work, kids at school, etc, but all being even would you ever consider it?

Cunt away..

Great birds up in the North East if you can understand them. Sign language works a treat though.

Lived in Stockton on Tees/Teeside in the late 90's/00's

Was a dump but dirt cheap to go out. Money went hell of a lot further up there on a night out.

If you are going to work in Teeside then either Yarm. |Richmond (N Yorks) or Ripon are "nicer" places to live.

I do live up North, in Leeds. Brilliant club and bar life, but overrun with students and the city now caters for them more than anybody else.

Just had a couple of days in Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria and then a couple in Harrogate. Lovely places but not sure I would like the shit weather they get a lot up there.
Northumberland coast is good as well but same goes for the weather.
Think it will be Suffolk or Norfolk when we move

Well thatā€™s a first.

Iā€™ve never been called a ā€œholographicā€ cunt before.

I think Iā€™ll wear it as a badge of honour.

Cheers norm.

Iā€™ll be honest Debs, Iā€™ve not spent much time in the North East. Always by passed it on the way to the definitely more hostile Scotland.

Toe Rag i think the Cities are more welcoming than small towns and villages. Darlo is very very cliquey and i haven't been a cunt to anyone, yet even people i know who are from.here (and a few who aren't) have told me its not accepting at all and if you don't belong oh boy they let you know it.

Deffo would say to anyone thinking of moving to the north east either go to Newcastle or better still just stay where you are.
